Job Title : Industry Clerk II
Department : Training Fund
Reports To : Supervisor, Training Fund Facilities
Work Hours : Monday-Friday 8AM-4PM or Tuesday-Saturday 8 AM-4PM
Summary : Work closely under the supervision of the Supervisor, Training Fund facilities to ensure that all classrooms are safe, clean and properly equipped. The Clerk will be responsible for accepting deliveries and maintaining all classrooms, tools, materials (industry and educational) associated with the safe and efficient operations of all industry classes. This support will enable the Supervisor to be immediately informed of unsafe conditions or practices, maintain proper stock of materials and tools, effectively control costs and budget estimates by making purchases based on real time inventory and appropriate capital investments needs.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities :
- Develop and maintain Vendor log with contacts for tool and consumable supplies
- Maintain tool and consumable supply Inventory on Adminshare.
- Develop and maintain inventory tool for book reproductions and binding supplies
- Oversee ordering and delivery of classroom supplies for all sites (NYC, Philly, CAD)
- Conduct daily inspections of Manhattan classrooms for safety and cleanliness, address and / or report issues immediately
- Maintain all tools, equipment for industry classrooms thru proper preventive maintenance practices and procedures as well as maintaining proper logs and records
- Work closely with the coordinator to ensure all classrooms have required tools (educational and industrial) and that proper stock is being maintained thru detailed record keeping
- Ensure proper classroom procedures are being adhered to by instructors including but not limited to : general classroom and tool safety, efficient disposal of waste metals, oils, sawdust, materials for recycling, recording and reporting results to the Deputy Director / Manager of any issues
- Develop tool and / or material lists under direction of the Supervisor from appropriate trade vendors for comparison and bidding
- Maintain neat, organized and well stocked supply rooms, updating coordinator / director of any equipment / supply needs
