Position Description
The Radiology Registration Clerk is a healthcare administrative professional primarily responsible for registering patients in a radiology department, gathering necessary patient information, verifying insurance details, scheduling appointments for imaging procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records within the radiology system; essentially acting as the initial point of contact for patients entering the radiology area.
Job Duties :
- Patient registration : Greeting patients, collecting demographic information, and verifying insurance coverage.
- Appointment scheduling : Coordinating patient appointments for various radiology exams based on physician orders.
- Data entry : Accurately inputting patient details into the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
- Medical record management : Maintaining patient files, including radiology reports and imaging studies.
- Patient communication : Explaining procedures to patients, addressing questions, and providing instructions regarding preparation for exams.
- Billing verification : Checking insurance eligibility and verifying necessary billing codes for procedures.

Education :
High school diploma or GED required.
