Reports to

Machining Side Team Leader

The Centerless Grinder is responsible for the correct machining of components in a high volume automotive organization. This position includes precision work producing parts in a safe, efficient way while maintaining high quality.

Summary/Objective

· Set up and run grinding work-centers to the established quality and productivity goals.

· Perform changeovers to the established goals on all family and non-family products to include conveyors, feeding system, grinding machine, gages, and dryer bowls.

· Identify and correct non-conforming parts, defective tooling and damaged supplies

· Safely operate overhead crane & hoist

· Assist other departments as needed

· All other duties as assigned

Skills and Attributes

· Ability to handle high volume production

· Follow all Environmental, Health, Safety policies and procedures

· Understand and follow process documentation including process prints and work instructions

· Ability to understand and use metric measurements

· Understanding of basic math equations

· Meet quality, production and work center goals

· The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.

Qualifications

· Previous manufacturing experience in a machining environment that includes grinders and lathes or equivalent technical training

· Basic Computer skills including ERP Systems

· Solid mechanical knowledge

Physical Demands

· Required to stand for long periods of time and move about the facility

· Occasional lifting of items not to exceed 40 lbs

· Use of all required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)

· Work primarily in a plant environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.75 - $25.75 per hour
