What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavioral Health Technician (BHT/BHPP) - OVERNIGHT SHIFT position at Blessed Hands Health Care LLC?
Behavioral Health Technicians help provide support services to clients receiving substance abuse and/or mental health services. This position requires constant observation and monitoring of client behavior.
This role is for overnight shifts.
Below are just a few items that are expected of this role:
- Monitoring patients and recording your observations.
- Reporting back on each patient's progress and concerns.
- Ensuring patients have a safe and supportive environment.
- Providing emotional support to patients.
- Alerting medical professionals to intervene in emergencies.
- Carrying out assessments and other administrative tasks.
- Maintaining strict patient confidentiality.
- Monitoring medication usage and documentation.
- Driving clients in large passenger van to planned activites outside of the facility.
Below is what we look for in our Behavioral Health Technicians:
- Ability to treat patients with dignity and empathy.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
- Acute observation skills.
- Computer literacy.
- Experience working in a mental health institution or psychiatric ward a plus but not required.
This position does have a lot of paid down time and we are willing to provide training to the right individual who is interested in pursuing a career in the Behavioral Health Medical Field.
MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING OR BE WILLING TO GET THE FOLLOWING BEFORE STARTING:
- CPR and First Aid Training
- Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Negative TB Test
