Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented independent contractor to join our team as a Medical Courier, specializing in the delivery of medical equipment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the timely, safe, and secure transportation of critical medical supplies and equipment to healthcare facilities, patients, and other designated locations. This is an independent contractor role, providing flexibility to manage your schedule while delivering exceptional service. You are required to have your own Sprinter or Cargo van.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pickup and Delivery:
• Pick up medical equipment and supplies from designated locations and deliver them to healthcare facilities, patient homes, or other specified destinations.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all items, adhering to scheduled time frames.
• Equipment Handling:
• Safely load, transport, and unload medical equipment, ensuring items are handled with care to prevent damage.
• Verify the accuracy of delivery contents against work orders and maintain appropriate documentation.
• Compliance:
• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations related to the transportation of medical equipment and supplies.
• Follow company protocols for handling sensitive and specialized medical equipment.
• Customer Interaction:
• Maintain professional and courteous communication with clients and patients.
• Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or questions related to deliveries.
• Record-Keeping:
• Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, mileage, and any incidents or delays.
• Submit required documentation to the contracting organization promptly.
• Vehicle Maintenance:
• Ensure the delivery vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and in safe working condition.
• Perform routine checks and report any maintenance needs immediately.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Reliable sprinter or cargo van vehicle suitable for transporting medical equipment.
• Proof of insurance meeting the contractor’s requirements.
• Ability to lift and carry medical equipment (up to 50 pounds) safely and effectively.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with local and regional routes to optimize delivery efficiency.
• Must pass a background check and, where applicable, drug screening.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in courier services, logistics, or medical equipment delivery.
• Knowledge of handling fragile or specialized medical equipment.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Conditions:

• Flexible schedule, including availability for same-day and time-sensitive deliveries.
• Deliveries may require extended driving periods and adherence to tight deadlines.
• Independent contractor status; compensation based on deliveries completed.
