Part-time Maitenance and Custodial Worker

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented maintenance person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. The ideal candidate will have maintenance experience with a focus on maintaining the integrity of our facility and grounds.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist supervisor with maintenance of equipment, buildings, grounds and utilities by performing the following duties:

Assist supervisor to repair and maintain equipment to ensure continuous system operations.

Assist supervisor in planning and completing small construction projects and/or small repairs and improvements as needed or requested or negotiate and contract on behalf of the parish or contractors and to see the completion of these projects/repairs.

Assist supervisor with maintenance activities on all building and grounds components and systems, including development of a preventative maintenance program in conjunction with manufactures, engineering and maintenance recommendations.

Assist other staff members, pastor or custodial staff.

Clean worship area, classrooms, meeting rooms, office rooms, hallways, common areas, parish hall, kitchen, corridors, stairways, rectory and other work areas.

Clean and sanitize all restrooms and replenish restroom supplies.

Sets up tables and chairs in the parish center and rectory as needed.

Maintains confidentiality in all matters arising in and around the parish center.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to complete each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and or ability required.

Skill and knowledge with hand tools, minor electrical, plumbing and HVAC. Skill and knowledge with grounds equipment to include mowers, weed-eaters, edgers and snow blowers.

High school diploma required. Prefer 3 to 5 years related experience or training.

Language skills – ability to speak and print clearly.

Mathematical skills – ability to do simple calculations

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 20 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Weekends as needed
