NURSE MANAGER JOB SUMMARY
The Nurse Manager leads frontline staff in the delivery of quality patient care. The Nurse Manager ensures effective two-way communication and problem solving within the team and with other units. Nurse Manager will actively participate in the recruitment, selection, orientation, and retention of staff. It is the responsibility of the Nurse Manager to participate in budget management, assure workflows are smooth and participate in quality improvement activities to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards. The Nurse Manager facilitates effective and cascaded communication amongst the staff, patients, families and other team members outside of the department to assure that all are informed and updated. The manager guides staff to ensure an understanding and active participation in organizational strategic goals.
NURSE MANAGER JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Training/Experience:
REQUIRED:
- Graduate of an RN School of Nursing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Minimum three (3) years related nursing experience
- Minimum three (3) years progressive nurse leadership experience
PREFERRED:
- Master of Science in Nursing
License/Certifications/Special Requirements:
- Possesses current state RN license.
- Maintain current BLS
- Current Illinois Registered Professional Nurse License.
- National Nursing Leadership Certification (when eligible)
- ACLS (within 6 months of hire)
- Preferred: Related Nursing Specialty Certification
