What are the responsibilities and job description for the CLINICAL DIETITIAN position at Blessing Hospital?
The role of a clinical dietitian at Blessing Hospital includes providing nutrition-related services to bariatric customers enrolled in the Memorial Bariatric Services Program at Blessing Hospital.
This position requires an individual that is flexible and adaptable and has an enthusiasm to work with the obese population to develop life changing behaviors. This position is a critical member of the multidisciplinary care team and performs assessments and re-assessments pre and post operatively on the bariatric patient in an outpatient setting. Review of pre and post operative labs and provide mineral repletion recommendations to the bariatric patient. This position will also include teaching group dietary courses to the bariatric patient, attend monthly support group (1st Tuesday of every month 5:30-7:30pm) and attend bi-annual bariatric retreat in Springfield, Il. This position will require initial training in Springfield at the Memorial Bariatric Center. This position will also participate in a variety of community events including health fairs, speaking engagements, and other health/wellness related events that arise.
This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, ages served 19 to 70, in a manner than demonstrates an understanding of the functional/development age of the individual served.

- Bachelor's degree in nutrition-related field and supervised practice in order to meet the requirement of a Registered Dietitian (RD) or registration eligible by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).

- RD through CDR or registration eligible for the examination.
- Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist through the State of Illinois Department of Professional Regulation (IDPH).
- Sanitation certification from IDPH or Serve Safe Certification within 2 years of hire.
- Additional certifications are encouraged, but not required.
