What are the responsibilities and job description for the Historian/Researcher position at BLH Technologies, Inc.?

BLH Technologies, Inc. is seeking part-time support for a historical research project in the NLM Collection. The successful candidate will perform online research in NLM collections and databases to compile bibliographies and content summaries of collection content.

Duties :

Develop and execute a search strategy for research in online NLM collections and databases. Research may also include non-NLM public-facing resources like the Internet Archives and other institutions' digital archives.
Deliver 4 bibliographies and / or content summaries and / or syntheses of selected NLM collections.

Required Qualifications :

Master's degree awarded or in progress, from ALA-accredited institution or equivalent. Current MLIS students are encouraged to apply.

Demonstrated experience with online historical research and writing bibliographies and / or content summaries.

The ability to effectively communicate through interpersonal, written, and oral skills.

Ability to work independently.

Preferred Qualifications :

Proficiency in the Chicago Manual of Style.

Proficiency in citation management tools (e.g. Zotero, EndNote, etc.).

Salary : $25 - $30
