Job Description: Assistant Manager
Assistant Manager Job Summary: Responsible for assisting the Location Manager with the overall day-to-day operations of the store, warehouse, and yard to ensure achievement of company goals and objectives by performing the following duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Builds and maintains a work environment that encompasses safety, teamwork, and a high level of coworker morale and communication.
Brings to the Branch Manager any personnel and/or discipline issues.
Forecast product demand and efficiency.
Assistant Manager is responsible for performing high volume of sales through estimates, both residential and commercial.
Solicit and value customer feedback, address deficiencies, and strive for continuous improvement.
Observe and enforce compliance of company programs and procedures.
Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies, safety rules, and government regulations.
Attend and participate in company-sponsored training, when required.
Maintains key customer relationships to ensure quotes and orders are properly handled.
Other reasonable directives, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Cover when Manager is out of the office.
Help with Payroll when Manager is not present.
MANAGE DRIVER SAFETY PROGRAM FOR LOCATION:
Provide assistance, support, and crisis management for drivers
Adhere to safety regulations and comply with state and federal transportation regulations, procedures, and laws
Maintain accurate documentation and records to include monitoring drivers daily logs for accuracy or any violations and to ensure post-trip inspections are properly completed
QUALIFICATIONS:
An Assistant Manager must:
Assist dispatcher when necessary

LANGUAGE ABILITY TO:

English speaking, reading and comprehension skills required for daily interaction with customers vendors, suppliers, co-workers and management.
MATH ABILITY TO:
Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, and apply mathematical operation to such tasks as analysis of variance.
REASONING ABILITY TO:
Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables; and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS;
To perform this job successfully, an individual should be knowledgeable of inventory software; vendor order processing systems; and company Point-of-Sale System. Ability to operate networked computer systems and specialized software application programs.
