Job Title: Commercial Estimator
Job Summary: The Commercial Estimator is responsible for accurately estimating the costs associated with commercial construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. The Commercial Estimator collaborates with various departments, including sales, project management, and procurement, to ensure that all aspects of the project are considered in the estimate. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with sales, project management, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Identify and quantify all cost factors, including materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Prepare detailed and itemized cost breakdowns for each project.
- Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain pricing information and ensure competitive bids.
- Monitor and update cost estimates as project details change.
- Assist in the preparation of bid proposals and presentations for clients.
- Maintain accurate records of all estimates and related documentation.
- Participate in project meetings and provide input on cost-related matters.
- Stay current with industry trends, pricing, and best practices in commercial construction estimating.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a commercial estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
