To provide effective didactic, laboratory and clinical instruction to students in the dental hygiene program.
Essential Duties
1. Provide didactic, laboratory and/or clinical instruction to dental hygiene students.
2. Prepare, maintain and utilize an accurate course syllabus and assessments for each course using guidelines established by the institution and program
3. Collaborate and calibrate with other faculty
4. Develop/revise course evaluation tools to measure and assess acquisition of student knowledge, as identified in the course’s student learning outcomes.
5. Maintain access to students through office hours and electronic communication
6. Utilize a variety of instructional delivery methods, classroom media and educational resources
7. Assist in the development, distribution and collection of assessments for courses and program objectives
8. Exhibit effective communication skills, both written and oral
9. Exhibit a commitment to lifelong learning through participation in professional development opportunities and effective teaching methodologies
10. Participate in faculty evaluation system
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

1. Graduate of a dental hygiene program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation,
2. 3 years practicing in clinical dental hygiene, exclusive of teaching,
3. Bachelor’s Degree,
4. Current Texas Dental Hygiene License,
5. Current knowledge of the dental hygiene practice,
process of care and all subjects in dental hygiene education;
6. Effective use of hand instruments , ultrasonic scaler and air polishing;
7. Computer skills: Powerpoint; Word;
Preferred Experience and Training
2. 3 years practicing in clinical dental hygiene, exclusive of teaching,
3. Bachelor’s Degree,
4. Current Texas Dental Hygiene License,
5. Current knowledge of the dental hygiene practice,
process of care and all subjects in dental hygiene education;
6. Effective use of hand instruments , ultrasonic scaler and air polishing;
7. Computer skills: Powerpoint; Word;
1. 5 years teaching in an accredited dental hygiene program;
2. current teaching methodology specific to teaching dental hygiene;
3. practice in periodontal specialty;
4. documented background in teaching methodology specific to dental hygiene education;
5. Proof of current Administration of Local Infiltration Anesthesia- Certification – Texas.

Ability to stoop, crouch, reach, stand, walk , push, pull, lift, use fingers, perform repetitive motions, grasp, sit, feel (tactile sense when performing dental hygiene tasks)
Ability to carry supplies and books up to 25 pounds
The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly for a minimum of 4 hours.
Ability to hear, see, speak and think critically

Bachelor’s degree; Registered Dental Hygienist in
Texas; current CPR, OSHA/HIPAA

This is a 10 month, benefits eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits. Optional coverage’s can begin on your first active duty date.
