The Part Time Health Science Center Campus Simulation and Clinical Labs Coordinator is a staff member who has primary responsibility to organize and support the learning experiences that take place in the Simulated Clinical Sessions and Skill Laboratories for all the Health Science Programs. The position involves collaboration with faculty teaching courses that require practice and clinical simulation experiences in the or more of the various laboratories.

Must hold at least a Vocational/Practical level of Nursing (LVN or LPN) and be currently licensed in the State of Texas.

Position Details
Principal Accountabilities
Principal Accountabilities
Coordinates day to day activities and services of the nursing lab area including scheduling, lab set up, and management of lab equipment and supplies; for all of the health science departments.
Principal Accountabilities
Schedule labs, maintain, inventory, and assist with ordering lab supplies and equipment for classes to be taught in the Simulated Clinical Sessions and/or Skill Laboratory.
Principal Accountabilities
Coordinates the ordering and re-supply of consumable lab equipment; conducts quarterly equipment inventories.
Principal Accountabilities
Determine student supplies needed for each course and prepare purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
Principal Accountabilities
Prepare demonstrations of laboratory skills for classes to be taught in the Simulation and Skills Laboratory with the collaboration of other staff and Course Coordinators.

Promote high standards of excellence in assigned collaboration with laboratory and simulation experiences.

Meets with simulation staff to review schedule and update activities and maintain an established work schedule.

Prepare the set-up for laboratory/clinical skills/ and classroom activities requested to be taught/demonstrated or evaluated in the Simulation and Skills Laboratory or classroom under the guidance of the Course Coordinator and/or faculty.

Participate in Program and College Faculty Committee meetings as assigned.

Keep informed about major trends and innovations in clinical practice as it relates to topics taught in the simulated clinical laboratory.

Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Must hold at least a Vocational/Practical (LVN or LPN) Nursing level license from an accredited program, currently licensed in the State of Texas.
Must be current in Healthcare Provider CPR (within last 2 years & renewable every 2 years, per American Heart Association Standards), be current on immunizations, and have a TB skin test annually as well as other Immunizations per Blinn College and Department of Health Sciences.
At least Vocational Nursing license with at least 3 years clinical experience. This is essential to validate proficiency along with the understanding of healthcare systems and other related healthcare fields with evidence-based practice.
