What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teaching Assistant- Associate Degree Nursing position at Blinn College?

Works under the supervision of a Master’s or Doctorally prepared nurse faculty to provide laboratory and clinical instruction in all areas of nursing education according to accreditation standards and guidelines.
Opportunities to teach courses may be available on the RELLIS campus or Brenham campuses, and/or other clinical affiliates sites.
Essential Duties
1. Assists in delivering curricula to upper and/or lower-level nursing students in a variety of teaching modalities within the nursing program.
2. Coaches students and assist in checking-off students for appropriate competency as determined by program and student learning outcomes.
3. Assists nursing faculty with the supervision of students in clinical and simulated experiences.
4. Participate in professional development related to teaching, instruction, and student learning
5. Work collaboratively with others as part of a team to foster a positive work environment under the direction of the Director of Nursing
6. Other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrate immunity per agreements with clinical affiliates
- Must be able to meet the following physical demands; bending, walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing, and handling equipment, supplies or patients exceeding 25 pounds.
- Must be able to lift 25 to 35 pounds without restrictions
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
- Alertness at all times while performing duties on campus or in the clinical setting
1. Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas
2. Must hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing from an approved/accredited program
