Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Part-Time Medical Assistant to join our Primary Care office in Orlando, FL. Preference will be given to applicants with prior experience in Primary Care settings. The ideal candidate will possess excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and a comprehensive understanding of medical terminology. The role involves assisting healthcare providers with clinical tasks, including scribing, taking vitals, and supporting day-to-day office operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Rooming patients and preparing them for examinations.
- Taking and documenting vital signs and other measurements.
- Administering and documenting immunizations.
- Scheduling patient appointments.
- Performing basic laboratory procedures.
- Ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and co-workers.
- Completing related paperwork and forms as needed.
Key Requirements:
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a team environment.
- Ability to manage various clinical tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
- Previous experience in a Pediatric or Primary Care setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
Schedule: Full Time / Tuesday-Thursday
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- 2 years of clinical experience required.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmacology.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations including OSHA and HIPAA requirements, and the Patient Privacy Rule.
- Strong knowledge of computerized information systems (EMR) used in business and clinical management settings.
- Demonstrate the skills and ability necessary to document patient care as dictated by the Provider.
- Strong commitment to Customer Service and Excellence in healthcare.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Primary care experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2 years of medical assistant experience in a clinic setting, preferably in primary care.
Certifications & Licenses: NA
Technology Applications: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 16 – 24 per week
