JOB SUMMARY

The Customer Business Manager, Value Retailers, is a strategic leader entrusted with driving successful short, medium, and long-term growth within the critical Dollar class of trade. Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both internally and externally, are integral to this role, emphasizing the need for a future organizational leader with the determination to surpass objectives and foster partnerships across the company. This involves implementing innovative approaches to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty, formulating high-return ROI strategies for increased profitability, and identifying strategic investment opportunities aligned with business objectives. 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1.    Develop and execute strategies to achieve and exceed net sales targets for the Dollar class of trade.

2.    Implement innovative approaches to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.

3.    Formulate a high return on investment (ROI) strategy to increase profitability and enhance shopper takeaway.

4.    Identify and capitalize on opportunities for strategic investments that align with business objectives.

5.    Drive progress on long-term initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

6.    Continuously evaluate and adapt strategies to meet evolving market trends and customer demands.

7.    Establish and foster Joint Business Planning (JBP) level relationships with multiple category merchants at each customer.

8.    Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment between customer needs and organizational capabilities.

9.    Successfully operate within a highly complex and competitive Over-the-Counter/Health and Beauty Aids (OTC/HBA) category structure.

10.    Strategically position our products to win a greater share of customer requirements.

11.    Leverage advanced data analysis and category strategy to gain a competitive advantage over industry rivals.

12.    Stay abreast of industry trends and consumer behavior to inform decision-making processes.

13.    Effectively communicate and land strategic tenets with CEO/BOD level stakeholders.

14.    Demonstrate the ability to align organizational strategies with the overarching goals of top-level decision-makers.


REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

1.    4-year college degree in sales, marketing, finance or other related field.

2.    The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically acquired in 5 to 7 years of experience in a Sales environment, supporting a National customer, using a vendor portal, and using Nielsen/ Circana syndicated data. 

3.    Ideal candidate will have worked on a Dollar Sales Team supporting the sell-in and management of National Brands sold in Dollar. Not a requirement. 

4.    Must be a quick study, and understand share, volume, forecasting, and branded selling. Must have demonstrated the ability to produce professional presentation content. 

5.    Must have assumed increased levels of responsibility and be interested in continuing to develop.

6.    Strong analytical ability to gather, format, analyze, and present data that draws conclusions and produces favorable outcomes (distribution and promotions) to drive category growth at Value Retailers.

7.    Good math aptitude to perform needed calculations in tabulating and analyzing required data.

8.    Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills required to interact with Blistex and Dollar personnel.

9.     Must be computer proficient in a Windows environment (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.).

10.    Good written communication skills (composition, clarity, grammar).

11.    Good organizational ability, able to effectively work independently and with a team.

12.    Ability to routinely meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent time-sensitive tasks.

13.    Willingness to accept other duties, as assigned, with a growth mindset.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT

1.    This position requires the individual to stand or walk up to 33% of the time. This position requires the individual to sit, talk or hear, and use hands to finger, handle or feel 66% to 100% of the time. This position requires the individual to reach with hands and arms 33% to 66% of the time.

2.    This position will require the individual to lift up to 10 pounds 33% to 66% of the time.

3.    The vision requirements for this position includes close vision of 20 inches or less; distance vision of 20 feet or more, color vision (ability to distinguish between colors), peripheral vision (ability to see up, down, left, right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (3-dimensional vision), and ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).

4.    This position has no exposure to measurable environmental hazards or conditions. 

5.    The noise level for this position will be moderate noise (ex: Business office equipment and/or computer printers, light foot traffic).

6.    Travel and overtime requirements are dependent upon business and department demands.
