Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Fiber Drop Technician to join our installation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing fiber optic drops, both aerially and underground, from the terminal at the pole to the Network Interface Device (NID) on the side of the house. You will also provision connections to ensure customers receive optimal service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation:
- Install fiber optic drop cables aerially or underground from the terminal at the pole to the NID on the customer’s property.
- Ensure all installations comply with company standards and industry regulations.
- Provisioning:
- Configure and provision customer connections to ensure proper service delivery.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting of fiber connections to identify and resolve issues.
- Customer Interaction:
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain installation processes and address any questions or concerns.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through professional and courteous service.

- Documentation:
- Accurately document installation activities and maintain records of work performed.
- Update system databases to reflect completed installations and service provisions.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in fiber optics or related field preferred.
- Experience in fiber optic installation, particularly in drop installations, is a plus.
- Familiarity with aerial and underground installation techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb poles, and work in various outdoor conditions.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
