What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Outsource Director - Unannounced Game position at Blizzard Entertainment?
Responsibilities
Create and drive the art outsource infrastructure and best practices needed to deliver best-in-class game content for a new, unannounced game.
Build and manage long-term relationships with art vendors to ensure an efficient, sustainable art pipeline.
Work closely with production to build and execute the strategic roadmap for all game materials.
Handle all external art quotes, budgets, and contracts in partnership with internal game leadership, legal, and finance.
As the project grows, build and manage a team of outsource supervisors to effectively scale all outsource pipelines and systems.
Facilitate a productive feedback loop between the internal team and outsource partners to enable an iterative path to quality content.
Exemplify reliability, accountability, and professionalism in all work-related interactions.
Minimum Requirements
10 years of outsource management experience or equivalent in a game development environment.
Demonstrated experience partnering with art leads and outsourcing managers to identify and nurture external development.
Experience creating and managing the workflow and pipeline of outsourced game assets.
Expert understanding of the cost and time required to deliver AAA game materials.
Skilled in managing communication of art team's feedback to external vendors and maintaining a strong creative relationship between external and internal art teams.
Able to generate detailed documentation, visual references, examples, procedures, and engine requirements to support external vendors.
Experience managing outsource contracts, budgets, and delivery timelines.
Self-starter and driver, excellent communicator, and an amazing team-player.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
Expert level knowledge of the requirements and tools needed to ingest art assets into Unreal Engine.
A solid foundation in traditional art.
