As a Class Designer on the Diablo IV team, you will contribute to the design and implementation of exciting, polished, and balanced gameplay systems and class mechanics for future updates and expansions. You'll work on bringing thematic, compelling mechanics to life and ensure that classes feel deep, fun, and rewarding to play across all stages of the game.
This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.

In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is $29.81 - $55.14 Hourly. These values reflect the expected base pay range of new hires across all U.S. locations. Ultimately, your specific range and offer will be based on several factors, including relevant experience, performance, and work location. In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation. Incentive compensation is not guaranteed. Responsibilities
- Design and implement engaging class mechanics, abilities, and gameplay loops that align with the dark, immersive tone of Diablo IV.
- Ensures class features interact meaningfully with broader gameplay systems (e.g., itemization, endgame, progression).
- Apply your knowledge of ARPG systems and metas to iterate and balance gameplay content.
- Use scripting and design tools to prototype and deliver content from concept to final implementation.
- Collaborate across disciplines (engineering, art, UI/UX, etc.) to develop cohesive and polished experiences.
- Provide and receive constructive feedback through playtests and reviews.
- Minimum 3 of professional experience as a game designer, ideally on RPG or action titles.
- Hands-on experience designing and balancing character classes, abilities, or combat systems.
- Strong understanding of Diablo IV ARPG gameplay, with a particular focus on character builds, itemization, and endgame content.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills to identify design issues and iterate effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate design decisions and collaborate across teams.
- Familiarity with the Diablo franchise or similar ARPGs as a passionate player.
- Experience implementing gameplay content using scripting or visual programming languages.
- A strong personal understanding of how metas evolve in ARPGs with the introduction of new mechanics and features.
- Experience contributing to live game updates or seasonal content.
