Idaho Central Arena has served as the hub of downtown Boise’s sports and music entertainment since opening its doors in the fall of 1997, hosting an average of 100 events annually and welcoming 5.4 million attendees in 19 years. The arena is the home of Idaho Steelhead hockey and the Front Street Fights mixed martial arts brand. Over the years, Idaho Central Arena has hosted basketball, arena football, indoor soccer, Motocross, and gymnastics events. The arena also hosts numerous concerts, trade shows, and conventions each year in downtown Boise.
- Operating cutting tools quickly and safely
- Prepare food for arena guests
- Operate fryer to prep food for the concession stands i.e. finger steaks, fish and chips, shrimp baskets, and chicken strips.
- Must be able to work on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights
JOB SUMMARY
The Concessions Staff provides attentive service to all customers while delivering food/beverages in an arena setting. All members of the Concession Staff are responsible for presenting themselves as a positive reflection of the venue while providing exceptional customer service.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recognize guests immediately with a friendly greeting
- Ensure guest satisfaction through responsiveness to guest needs
- Maintain a well-groomed neat and clean appearance, carrying out duties with attention to sanitation safety
- Perform side work duties on a daily basis and other duties as assigned
- Transport trays and/or plates throughout the arena which may weigh up to 20 pounds, as well as serve food items and beverages
- Review and comprehend documentation
- Stand throughout a 4-hour shift
- Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers alike
- Work in an environment that has varying levels of crowds and noise the severity of which depends upon customer volume
- Acts as an ambassador of the venue, marketing the venue and all products offered to the targeted customer base
- Exhibits and executes a complete knowledge of the venue's sequence of service and selling technique
- Provides each customer with a properly itemized bill and secure payment according to established venue procedures
- Works with a sense of urgency to anticipate customer needs and assist other team members when the opportunity arises
- Communicates with management, and other service staff to rectify any and all customer needs comments or incidents
- Communicates and works with all support staff to ensure inventory is maintained at established par levels
- Adheres to all established policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Must be able to provide an upbeat, energetic, fun atmosphere at all times
- Employees will be required to engage and interact with customers in a fun, playful manner
Requirements
- Possess excellent time management skills
- Possess a food handlers license or willing to get one
- Great communication skills
- 1 to 2 years experience in food service
