The Team
The Design Systems team is responsible for the UI development experience at Cash App. We build systems that power high-quality design and development. We exist to solve the common problems experienced by most engineers and designers via robust and reliable tools and frameworks. We are ultimately accountable for the quality of design and engineering in our applications. We want to make creating exceptional, high-quality, and groundbreaking features at Cash App fast, intuitive, safe, and enjoyable.
The Role
On the Design Systems team, our primary customers are engineers and designers at Cash App. Your team will maintain, curate, and evolve our design system. You will also be responsible for messaging systems (in-app messages, badging, etc.), navigation infrastructure, and other UI patterns. This team thinks long-term about our technical strategy for UI development, and provides clear guidance and tools that make this easy for our customers. As the Engineering Manager for the Design Systems team, you will be personally responsible for the growth of the mobile engineers on this team; collaborating with your fellow design, server, and product partners on decisions that will directly impact the UI / UX of Cash App. You will help the team to maintain a deep connection with our customers to ensure we are serving their needs.

- Manage and grow a team of systems-focused mobile engineers.

- Provide both technical and career guidance for individuals and managers on your team.
- Create a tightly aligned and collaborative partnership between the client and design, server, product, product data science and machine learning (e.g. shared roadmapping, prioritization, goals, etc.).
- Contribute directly to quarterly and annual strategic plans.
- Support the building of new, exciting functionality into an application designed to provide concrete value to our customers.
- Own the growth and maintenance of your area.
- Lead and participate in technical, design, and product discussions with your fellow partners on the team, and with other partners throughout the organization.
- Continue building a world-class team through hiring, coaching, and ongoing development.
