Duties
Specialize in backend, security, and bitcoin blockchain engineering. Responsible for working on next-generation Bitcoin technology and features, including developing functionalities for the Lightning network node. Design, build, troubleshoot, and enhance Bitcoin features, services, and infrastructure. Contribute to the Lightning Development Kit (LDK) by reviewing code, enhancing testing infrastructure, and expanding support for language bindings. Extend support for new language bindings, including Java, Kotlin, JavaScript, WebAssembly, browser extensions, Python, and Go. Implement Taproot support encompassing musig, Point Time Locked Contracts (PTLCs), and multi-sig scripts. Enhance sample wallets and nodes that integrate the Bitcoin Development Kit (BDK) with the LDK sample, providing default configurations for common scenarios. Develop an improved backup mechanism featuring support for multiple languages, live-backups, and multi-device capabilities, integrating both BDK and LDK. Develop support for Lightning Service Provider (LSP) functionality, including automatic channel management and 0-confirmation channels. Improve Lightning Network payment protocols such as BOLT12 and LNURL. May telecommute.
Requirements
Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree Computer Engineering, Computer Science in or related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or in a Spiral Blockchain Engineer-related occupation.

- Cross-functional collaboration, working effectively across teams and disciplines.
- Rust, Java, Kotlin, Go, or C/C .
- SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Technical leadership and execution across the entire software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Evaluating and making informed decisions regarding the adoption of new or existing software products and tools.
- Mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
