What are the responsibilities and job description for the Guest Services Associate position at Bloedel Reserve?
Join Bloedel Reserve as an ambassador for our renowned gardens, handling membership & admission sales, phones and computers, and sharing the gifts of our beautiful Gatehouse Shop. We seek a friendly team member to facilitate an exceptional guest experience by offering great customer service while working the cash register, educating guests, selling admission, promoting membership, working in the gift shop, and contributing to a positive team atmosphere at Bloedel Reserve. Training is provided and the position is supervised by the Guest Services Manager. We are open six days a week and have 16-25 hours per week available. Be a part of a great team!
What You Will Do:
- Actively welcome guests and members upon arrival to provide an orientation of the property, programs, and events that support the Reserve’s mission.
- Provide friendly, clear, and courteous customer service to encourage return visitation.
- Manage customer concerns, communicate effectively, provide prompt follow-up, and relay information as needed to the manager.
- Process sales transactions for admission, membership, programs, and merchandise quickly and accurately using a computerized cash register.
Skills and Experience:
- Excellent people skills and the ability to work and communicate with a wide variety of people, including the general public, staff, volunteers, board members, and special guests.
- Courtesy, a positive attitude, flexibility, and a sense of humor are valued.
- Comfort and aptitude with computers and technology and a willingness to learn new programs as necessary.
- Cash handling experience is necessary.
- The ability to work well independently and in coordination with other Guest Services team members, volunteers, and staff
- An interest in the Bloedel Reserve and gardening & horticulture in general

- A competitive starting wage of $16.66 – 18.00 per hour DOE
