Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Process Optimization
- Own and optimize existing equipment within the defined process. Understand capabilities of equipment and system, work with vendors on maintaining system and optimizing output, train operators on system and create effective Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).
- Monitor flow rates of ingredients, waste, in-process and finished goods to identify areas of needed improvement and to ensure optimal process performance. Use metrics, lean and other TQM methods to problem solve.
- Establish process parameters for manufacturing critical control points; ensure effective data collection methodology; monitor defined parameters, identify and develop activities to improve and optimize the process to meet expected yield and quality.
- Identify opportunities, create teams involving operators, supervisors, managers, and additional functional areas to support process improvements and overall process efficiencies.
- Investigate issues that arise in operations to impede optimal process flow; lead corrective action activities to implement identified solutions, evaluate to ensure effectiveness of change.
- Design engineering solutions that meet all quality, safety, maintenance, financial and operator requirements.
- Plan, manage and execute identified solutions.
- Use ongoing metrics and data to validate process improvements are maintained and meeting expectations.
Leadership
- Provide leadership for departmental employees through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
- Define future state, set departmental goals for engineering and maintenance, and communicate goals with staff, gain support and commitment.
- Provide ongoing assessment and feedback to staff regarding performance.
- Coach, mentor and motivate team and contractors to ensure engagement in project and accountability to assigned work.
- Ensure work is conducted following safety and quality policies and procedure.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to climb ladder, bend, stoop, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- General office environment with majority of time using computer.
- Requires frequent travel.
Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct
Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
- Proficient in current computer software – Microsoft Office, MS Project; AutoCAD preferred; CMMS.
- Two years’ experience Mechanical engineering and/or process engineering; project management; knowledge of manufacturing concepts; food chemistry, thermodynamics, industrial rate processes, design of experiments, statistics, science and data driven.
Education:
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering – Chemical, Electrical, Industrial, or Mechanical.
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
