JOB SUMMARY:
The Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible to serve as the liaison between production, quality control, customer service, warehouse and information technology departments in the application of the inventory Warehouse Management System (WMS). This role works with purchasing and scheduling departments to ensure planning and forecasting of business needs. The Inventory Control Coordinator ensures accuracy of inventory counts and lot traceability, maintains targeted inventory levels of product, raw materials and packaging.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the development, maintenance and modification of Warehouse Management System (WMS) inventory management system for the site
- Team with supervisors to organize and execute employee training on WMS system, including new hire training
- Ensure proper application of WMS system to maintain accurate quality counts and lot traceability of raw material and finished goods by auditing the system on a daily basis
- Research and resolve inventory and/or system problems; conduct retraining or modify the system to improve accuracy.
- Coordinate with production and purchasing staff to formulate procedures for monitoring raw material requirements to meet production needs; identify optional minimum and maximum inventory levels by product type
- Conduct physical inventory audits and cycle counting to maintain accuracy of inventory
- Prepare and distribute inventory reports including cycle count, inventory balances, and rework
- Monitor shelf-life for various product lines; maintain accurate information of rework available and where utilized in production; update inventory information regarding rework, re-melt or disposition of aged inventory
- Provide direction to warehouse regarding organization of inventory to ensure best use of space
- Assist production scheduling with capacity planning

EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate Degree (AA), business curriculum preferred
- Three (3 ) years of inventory control experience or a combination of education and experience which provides inventory management and control knowledge
- Able to read and write English to perform tasks successfully
- Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience in a production environment using an industry standard warehouse management software
- Must be comfortable working in a collaborative team
- Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office suite, Excel and spreadsheets
- Expected to identify, communicate/escalate and problem-solve as issues arise
