Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Customs & Trade Compliance Management
- Oversee all customs, import/export controls, and sanctions laws to ensure compliance with CBP, CBSA, and other Partnering Government Agencies (PGA).
- Manage customs brokers and ensure seamless import/export clearance for all shipments (land, rail, air, sea).
- Develop and enforce customs compliance policies, including tariffs, duty payments, trade agreements, and import/export documentation.
- Review and update HS Tariff classifications in collaboration with Regulatory Affairs to maintain customs database accuracy.
- Amend previous customs entries or obtain customs rulings as government regulations require.
- Monitor international trade policies and update internal teams on regulatory changes.
USMCA & Certificates of Origin (COO) Compliance
- Prepare and distribute USMCA Certificates of Origin annually or as needed for new product shipments.
- Serve as the primary contact for all USMCA-related inquiries from customers.
- Update and establish Country of Origin (COO) agreements for all Blommer-exported products.
- Ensure customers receive yearly USMCA documentation as required.
- Manage Costco USMCA submissions for compliance, including online documentation and internal record gathering (POs, BOLs, Invoices, Batch Sheets, etc.).
Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) Compliance
- Maintain and review FSVP compliance records on Registrar Corp.
- Keep customer and foreign supplier lists up to date.
- Act as the point of contact for FDA inquiries and customer audits related to FSVP.
- Ensure Blommer maintains all FDA registrations and required certifications for all production sites.
Policy Development, Training, & Audits
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to international trade regulations.
- Provide training and technical leadership on customs compliance, sanctions laws, FDA, and FSVP to internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
- Establish a centralized documentation system for all required trade compliance records.
- Ensure company records are accurate and current for customer requests and audits.
- Support manufacturing facilities in preparing for audits and ensuring all required compliance documents are correctly formatted and presented.
Customs Broker Management
- Assume responsibility for managing customs broker relationships, taking over responsibilities previously handled,
- Ensure customs brokers comply with Blommer’s trade policies and government regulations.
- Work closely with customs brokers to resolve trade compliance issues and optimize import/export efficiency.
Logistic Analysis
- Create and update pricing tariffs for LTL shipments, considering factors such as distance, weight, volume, freight class, and other key variables affecting pricing. Ensure that all tariffs are consistent with current market conditions and business goals.
Additional Responsibilities
- Monitor and update trade compliance policies and procedures as regulatory requirements evolve.
- Provide regulatory compliance support to ensure products meet quality, safety, and authenticity standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the company’s import/export operations and regulatory compliance.

Physical Requirements:
- General office environment with majority of time using computer siting for prolonged periods of time.
- Manual & Visual Requirements-Keyboard and mouse usage. Visual acuity and clear hearing ability.
- Must follow all requirements when working in the plant.
- Potential travel to production locations
Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:
- Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conduct.
- Comply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gear, when on the plant floor v. office.
Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 7 years’ experience in customs entry writing and a solid understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS, and international trade compliance.
- Experience with trade compliance software and tools (e.g., ABI, ACE, or similar systems).
- Strong knowledge of import/export laws, tariff classifications, and duty rates.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and government agencies.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple shipments and customer inquiries simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong ability to analyze data and resolve complex Customs-related issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to proactively address potential Customs or regulatory issues before they arise.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience
- Licensed broker in US or Canada
- 5 years of experience in the customs brokerage industry and/or FSVP is a plus
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
Salary Range $104K-134K
