Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage Product Portfolio
- Maintain awareness of customers’ needs, competitors’ product offerings and competitive advantage/disadvantage compared to Blommer. Based on knowledge act as a business advocate responsible for interpreting market trends, identifying growth opportunities, idea generation, and communication back to the organization.
- Define gaps in product portfolio and generate business case. Manage annual portfolio review and subsequent actions (rationalizations).
- Identify and stay abreast of trends that impact product development space (opportunistic and erosive) and update leadership of likely impact.
- Review all New Product Development Requests (NPDs) to ensure optimization of existing portfolio, fit with product strategy, and effective utilization of R&D resources.
Product Strategy
- Develop value statements and product strategies. Communicate focus areas and value propositions in defined growth areas. Help define pricing strategy to ensure maximum profitability for the business.
- Develop business cases to support capital expansions.
- Prepare and coordinate product introductions and updates.
- Collaborate with S&OP team to develop messaging around which products we want to focus on based on portfolio fit and production capability.
- Participate in trade shows, forums, or other industry events.
- Operate within the core values of respect and care for others.

Physical Requirements:
- General office environment with majority of time using computer
- Requires Infrequent Travel (10-20%)

Skills and Work Experience Requirements:
- Ten (10) years of business experience in the food industry
- Experience with strategy development
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to influence, motivate, and mobilize teams and business partners
- Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
- Commercial experience
- Understanding of dynamic commodity markets
- Ability to establish and build trusting relationships at all levels of the organization
- Expected to identify, communicate/escalate and problem-solve as issues arise
- Effective in both verbal and written communications, with strong proficiency in delivering presentations and executive reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public relations, social media, communications or a related field
A reasonable estimate of the current base salary range at the time of posting is below. The base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. The actual base salary within the specified range is based on several factors, including but not limited to applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, education, certifications, job responsibilities, market considerations and, if applicable, the location of the position.
This role is eligible for either a discretionary annual bonus (based on company, business unit and individual performance) and/or commission-based incentives.
Salary Range $100K-135K
