What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Technician position at Blood Assurance?
Blood Assurance has openings for 2nd Shift The hours of 3:00pm – 11:00pm Monday-Friday every 3rd weekend. Lab Technician I and Lab Technician II in our downtown Chattanooga Lab. This position performs donor and blood product testing in accordance with laboratory standard operating procedures. Duties include testing of donor samples, quality control testing of blood products, preparation of blood products and labeling of blood products.
Minimum qualifications include:
· Exceptional attention to detail
· Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in chemical or biological science with at least 60 semester hours from an accredited institution which include the following:
o 24 semester hours of science courses that include:
· 6 semester hours of chemistry
· 6 semester hours of biology
· 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology or medical laboratory technology in any combination
· Laboratory experience preferred.
