The Blood Bank of Delmarva (BBD) located in Newark, DE offers experienced phlebotomists and non-experienced individuals who want to join the healthcare field, the training needed to join our mobile team.
The Mobile Blood Collection Technicians receive assignments working a varied schedule to different mobile blood drives weekly at differing locations. Each schedule is provided 2 weeks in advance. We train individuals that are naturally welcoming and committed to carrying out our mission by providing excellent customer service to our donors. - Conducts donor interviews in a confidential professional manner to determine donor eligibilities according to BBD standards.
- Initiates whole blood collection/phlebotomy procedures and monitors the donor's progress, according to BBD collection guidelines.
- Prepares for donor interviews and blood collection by ensuring that interview materials and phlebotomy equipment and supplies are set up and/or operable in keeping with Quality Control standards.
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of face-to-face customer service experience
- Minimum of 1 years of successfully managing multiple tasks in a fast paced working environment
- A valid driver's license is required
- Phlebotomy training is a plus, but not required
