- Under direction and supervision of design team leader, perform design calculations and plan development for various structural components
- Be responsible for preparing preliminary and final design plans
- Manage project design issues, budget, and schedules
- Prepare and interpret blueprints, drawings, and plans
- Back check calculations and assure quality control activities are performed on assigned work
- Coordinate with PM to deliver assignments within prescribed budgetary and time constraints
- Interact and communicate effectively with design team members
- Perform a variety of technical tasks to build experience and familiarization with engineering procedures and programs
- Work under close supervision of project manager or team leader and receive specific and detailed instructions for required tasks
- Contribute to marketing by looking for and reporting opportunities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
- Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering with structural emphasis preferred
- Professional Registration: EIT (Engineer-in-Training)
- 0-5 years of experience
- Familiarity with policies and procedures for structural/bridge design
- Working knowledge of design and analysis computer programs and tools related to structural/bridge design
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products; working knowledge of MicroStation or AutoCAD programs is a plus
- Good decision-making skills, focus on quality, and attention to detail
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
