Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Reliability Analysis Engineering Intern will support the Product Reliability team and will be based in San Jose, CA in a fully on-site role.Work with the Reliability Engineering Team to assess the performance of solid oxide fuel cells, focusing on field return units.Analyze various failure types observed in fuel cells and correlate performance data with failure patterns.Develop an automated process flow to assign failure reasons across a large fleet of fuel cells.Collaborate with the Quality, Remote Monitoring, and Engineering teams to identify failure modes for systems returned from the field.Assist in documentation efforts and contribute to a database summarizing root cause analyses for field return units.Utilize JMP statistical analysis software to organize and analyze data, supporting reliability assessments.Prepare PowerPoint presentations summarizing findings, conclusions, and recommendations.Drive follow-up actions on special projects as needed based on analysis results. Skills and ExperienceCurrent engineering student (Mechanical, Chemical, Reliability, or Systems Engineering preferred).Must be in the final year of a four-year Bachelor's program (completed by internship start date) or pursuing a Master’s degree, graduating by 2026.Internship runs from June to August 2025.Strong data analysis skills, with experience mining data from various databases.Preferably experienced with JMP, Minitab, or other statistical analysis programs.Knowledge of Python and SQL is preferred.Background in statistical analysis (coursework or work experience) is beneficial.Preferable academic focus in Reliability Engineering.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Strong attention to detail and analytical accuracy.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation development.
