Dental Assistant Pediatric Dentistry

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality dental care to children, ensuring their comfort and safety during procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of pediatric dentistry, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Duties

• Assist the dentist during examinations and dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
• Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, ensuring all instruments are sterilized and ready for use.
• Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
• Take and record vital signs of patients prior to treatment.
• Manage medical records and documentation accurately, including patient medical histories and treatment plans.
• Operate 3D scanners for imaging as needed during procedures.
• Educate patients and their families on proper oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
• Collaborate with the dental team to provide exceptional care tailored to each child's needs.

Experience

• Previous experience as a dental assistant is preferred, particularly in pediatric dentistry.
• Familiarity with Dentrix software for managing patient records is advantageous.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices is essential.
• Experience in assisting with general dentistry procedures will be beneficial.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
