What are the responsibilities and job description for the Landscape Installation Professional - Team Leader (March 2025) position at Bloom?
Bloom Fine Gardening is looking for a talented and energetic individual with a passion for the outdoors and installing high end landscapes to lead our installation team. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and have a genuine interest in the field of landscape installation. This is a working leadership position. The team leader will be expected to work along side team members in the field.
Requirements:
Valid and insurable driver’s license with the ability to drive a small box truck and or dump truck with trailer and heavy equipment
Ability to obtain A DOT medical ID card
Punctual, organized, and physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
Able to conform to an hourly schedule that ranges from 7am—5pm Monday-Friday
Proper application of measuring tools and devices including transit, levels, measuring tapes
3-5 years of verifiable professional experience in a leadership position for a softscape or hardscape team. Knowledge of perennials, shrubs, and trees of the northeast region.
Ability to run heavy equipment. Commonly used equipment includes excavators, skid steer, auger, demo saw, rototiller, brush hog, stump grinder.
Job Responsibilities:
- Be prepared daily with proper clothing for all weather conditions.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist in meeting deadlines for each job.
- Assist in preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project.
- Operate various tools and equipment, including: chain saw, chop saw, skid loaders, excavators, laser levels, shovels, hammers, drills.
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis.
- Assure job sites and trucks are emptied of garbage on a daily basis.
- Assure tools are put back in their place daily.
- Assure tools are protected from the elements when needed (close tool boxes during dusty, rainy, and snowy conditions).
- Read and interpret blueprints and designs to specifications in the field.
- Work outdoors in various conditions including heat, humidity, rain, dust, noise and cold.
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
This is a full-time, seasonal position (March-December) with the opportunity for employment through out the winter months. Bloom offers a highly professional and committed work environment that includes competitive pay.
