What's the role?

Bloomberg's Chief Risk Office (CRO) Department plays a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world. We move quickly and thoughtfully to help address risks that are inherent with being the world's leading financial news and information company. The CRO team provides coverage of both Bloomberg's regulated entities and products, and Bloomberg's non-regulated products and services. Our focus is to address risks and related issues by providing risk management as a service, focusing on providing and delivering value to help businesses and departments thoughtfully incorporate risk into decision making.

The CRO collaborates with other functions, including Legal and Compliance, Finance, Operational Resilience and Internal Audit, to provide centralized risk frameworks, processes, tools, training and advisory services to businesses and departments. In addition, we are responsible for risk reporting to firm-wide partners and senior management. In an increasingly regulated global economic environment, we are looking to grow our team, seeking highly experienced Risk professionals .

We are seeking a proactive and analytical Business Intelligence Analyst to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for transforming complex data sets into meaningful insights through data modeling and visualization using business intelligence platforms. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in data analysis, an aptitude for creating visually compelling dashboards, and the ability to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders across the organization.

We'll trust you to:

  • Collaborate with business teams to understand requirements and define key business and risk related metrics.

  • Partner with data engineers to collect, clean, and prepare datasets for analysis.

  • Create interactive dashboards and data visualizations that provide intuitive insights and support data-driven decisions.

  • Test, deploy data analytics applications and ensure optimal performance and efficiency of data analytics platforms and solutions.

  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and governance across models and solutions.

  • Stays informed on risk industry and educational/development opportunities


You'll need to have:

  • 7 years of experience of data analytics, data science, or a related field
  • Bachelor's degree in com puter science , Data Science, Statisti cs, or a related field
  • Proven experience in developing and deploying analytics solutions, building data models, and working with large datasets
  • Proficient with data visualization tools like Qlik, Power B I , or similar platforms
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and efficiency of operating across a multitude of levels
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver work on assigned schedules
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to act decisively and independently to resolve sophisticated issues
  • Ability to simplify difficult concepts and challenges

  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment


We'd love to see:

  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, SQL, and experience with data processing frameworks (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform) and building scalable data solutions
  • Individuals who are passionate about all things Risk and are genuinely excited about playing their part in helping build a best-in-class program
  • Self-starter, with the ability to work independently with minimal guidance and a positive work attitude
  • Strong business acumen and excellent communication skills
