What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control/Safety Manager position at Bloomer Machine and Fabrication?
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quality / Safety Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that our products meet the highest quality standards through rigorous inspection and adherence to established procedures. As a Quality Control Specialist, you will collaborate closely with production team members, engineer, and management to uphold our commitment to excellence.
As a Quality Control Specialist
- Conduct final inspections on finished products to ensure they meet specified requirements. Make decisions regarding product acceptance, rejection, or rework based on inspection results. Utilize a variety of measurement tools, such as calipers, micrometers, and CMM’s to ensure accurate dimensions.
- Maintain accurate records of inspection results and measurements. Generate inspection reports and documentation for each part. Ensure proper labeling of parts and traceability of with job and part number.
- Investigate and determine the root causes of defects or quality deviations. Collaborate with production team to implement corrective actions and prevent recurrence.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality control processes. Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
As the Safety Manager
- Lead the Safety Taskforce to create a safety culture throughout the company, reduce the risk of workplace injuries & illnesses
- Conduct incident investigations, identify root cause and provide corrective action
- Inspects the facility to identify safety, health, and environmental risks by conducting and documenting Safety Walk Throughs.
- Works cooperatively with Operations in performing job safety analysis and perform risk assessments on critical job tasks.
- Monitors compliance with safety procedures, ensuring OHSA compliance, including assisting with record keeping. Records and documents all environmental health and safety requirements.
- Ensures that material safety data sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Act as company representative with the local Safety Council, and other related professional organizations.
Requirements: Work experience in Manufacturing, Quality Assurance/Safety , and/or related field.
Proven experience in quality control/safety within a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of measurement tools and techniques, including calipers, micrometers, and CMMs.
Attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of quality control. Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and interpreting specifications.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
