Job Summary:
The Director of Data, Assessment, and MLSS provides leadership and oversight for the district’s Multi-Layered Systems of Support (MLSS), Student Assistance Team (SAT), and Section 504 processes. This position ensures compliance with district and state assessment requirements, manages student data systems, and oversees district-wide data reporting. The director will supervise and evaluate key personnel responsible for data management, assessment coordination, and student support services.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, Data Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of experience in educational leadership, data management, assessment, or student support services.
- Experience with state assessment administration, student data reporting, and MLSS implementation.
- Must possess or obtain a NM Level 3B K-12 Administrative license
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of New Mexico MLSS, SAT, and Section 504 laws and guidelines.
- Knowledge of state and federal assessment regulations.
- Proficiency in student information systems (SIS) and data management software.
- Proficiency in NM NOVA system management software
- Experience in data analysis, reporting, and compliance monitoring.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to train and support school personnel on assessment administration, data accuracy, and intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Multi-Layered Systems of Support (MLSS), SAT, and 504 Coordination
- Ensure compliance with New Mexico Public Education Department (NMPED) guidelines for MLSS, SAT, and Section 504.
- Develop and implement procedures for identifying and supporting students requiring intervention and accommodations.
- Provide professional development and support to school staff on MLSS, SAT, and 504 processes.
- Monitor the effectiveness of intervention strategies and data-driven decision-making in student support services.
District and State Assessment Requirements
- Oversee the administration of all state-mandated assessments, ensuring compliance with NMPED regulations.
- Provide training and support for school-based test coordinators and administrators.
- Analyze and report assessment data to inform instructional planning and student achievement initiatives.
- Ensure secure handling and accurate reporting of assessment materials and results.
District Data Management & Compliance
- Manage student information systems (SIS) to ensure accurate student records and data integrity.
- Oversee district attendance plans, waivers, and compliance with state attendance reporting.
- Manage all NM NOVA system and CRDC data system submission for the district.
- Ensure accurate collection and reporting of student data related to:
- Homeless student services in compliance with McKinney-Vento Act.
- Homeschool student records and compliance with state regulations.
- Vistas NM data accuracy to reflect district performance and accountability.
- NOVA count day data submission to ensure funding accuracy.
- Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC) compliance and reporting.
- Graduation rate data accuracy and timely reporting to the state.
- Student registration and registrar data input for enrollment and demographic reporting.
Supervision & Staff Evaluation
- Directly supervise and evaluate the following personnel:
- District Student Information Systems (SIS) Manager – oversees SIS data accuracy, reporting, and compliance.
- District NOVA Specialist – manages count day data and enrollment reporting.
- District Testing, MLSS, SAT, and 504 Coordinator – ensures compliance and implementation of assessment and student support programs.
Working Conditions & Terms of Employment:
