What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner position at Bloomfield Urgent Care?
Responsibilities:
- Provide primary care services to patients, including diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses
- Perform physical examinations and order diagnostic tests as needed
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with patients and other healthcare professionals
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate patients on disease prevention and health promotion
- Conduct data collection and analysis to evaluate patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care, including discharge planning
- Provide patient education on medication management, pain management, and self-care techniques
Qualifications:
- Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
- Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Certification as a Nurse Practitioner in the appropriate specialty area (e.g., Family, Adult, Pediatric)
- Experience working in an emergency room setting is preferred
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems
- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding and billing practices
- Ability to perform procedures such as catheterization and Botox injections is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
