Job description
Blooming Landscape & Design, LLC (BLD) is expanding and looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team to help with gardening, landscaping and hardscaping duties for the upcoming season, which runs from the beginning of April to the end of November.
This is a part-time, seasonal position (approximately 34-36 hours per week) from Monday – Thursday (work hours 8-5:15) with the option to work on Fridays if you would like more hours. Long-term career opportunities with Blooming are available and encouraged.
Blooming Landscape & Design is a full service landscaping company providing landscape planning, design, installation and maintenance services within Durango and the Four Corners Region. We specialize in regenerative, ecologically-friendly landscapes, using native, perennial plants when possible, harvesting rain and stormwater, and creating gardens that require less maintenance after being established. BLD is also certified in permaculture design and installs food forests on both urban and rural properties. We value the health of our clients, pollinators and birds and therefore are committed to being a pesticide and herbicide-free business. Our organic maintenance practices and biodynamic soil remedies attempt to restore biodiversity and bring resilience back into the landscape. Our goal is to transform the landscaping industry from one that is dominated by lawns and exotic plants to one that that creates healing for people and the planet.

Job duties include: assistance with plant maintenance, landscape and hardscape installation. Work involves pruning, deadheading, upkeep of plant beds, weeding, fertilizing, installing trees, shrubs and flowers, amending soil, applying mulch, plant selection, assisting with hardscape installation, running errands, picking up or ordering supplies, and assisting with other landscaping duties as needed.
Landscaping work requires frequent bending, shoveling, lifting heavy items and exposure to hot and cold weather.

Qualifications
Experience and knowledge of landscaping practices and plants for this area preferred but not necessary. We will train you on the job as long as you have a willingness to learn. You MUST live in or near Durango or be willing to relocate to apply for this position.
Eligible Candidates Must
- Must have high school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Be willing to learn, or adapt to, the practices of this business
- Have a cell or smart phone throughout the day to communicate with staff and management, if necessary.
- Have a valid driver’s license and a CLEAN driving record
- Be able to communicate effectively to management and coworkers via phone and email
- Have a mobile phone available for work purposes throughout the day
- Be comfortable working alone or with others
- Present oneself professionally to clients while working
- Have a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and energy to work physically all day
- Be okay with weeding, raking, digging, planting, lifting
