Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services to patients across various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health environments. The COTA will play a crucial role in helping patients improve their daily living skills and achieve their rehabilitation goals.
Duties
- Assist in the implementation of individualized treatment plans as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Provide direct patient care in various settings, including skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and home health.
- Conduct therapeutic activities aimed at improving patients' physical and cognitive abilities.
- Document patient progress and report any changes to the supervising Occupational Therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises and techniques to enhance recovery.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with facility policies.
Requirements
- Current certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities, geriatrics, outpatient settings, home health, inpatient care, pediatrics, or acute care is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and rehabilitation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to assist patients in their recovery journey.
- Ability to adapt treatment plans based on patient progress and needs.
