What are the responsibilities and job description for the Daycare Assistant Director position at Blossoming Minds Early Childhood Learning Center?

We are seeking an Assistant to the Director to assist the director with tasks including and not limited to answering phones, covering staff bathroom breaks, greeting families, etc. The Assistant to the Director must have the ability to assist in managing staff and taking control when the director is present. This candidate will take charge of the center when the Director leaves for the day (only three hours that the Director is not present) and if Director is absent.
The position is for Monday through Friday from 9:15am-6:15pm.
*Our prime candidate MUST have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience as an Assistant Director and prior childcare center employment *
Our prime candidate will contribute to creating a high quality environment for staff and children 6 weeks to 5 years. They will possess great leadership skills and are driven to take control in assisting in the administrative tasks with the director for the daily operations of the center to ensure smooth operation.

- Establishing and maintaining a healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Providing a safe and positive environment for the children and staff
- Dedicated team member upholding our standard of quality, expectations, and strong reputation
- Representing Blossoming Mind’s mission and values
- Following of Employee and Center's Policies and Procedures
- Understanding and implementing the objectives/expectations within the center
- Understanding and following of all state regulations within the building
- Meeting annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
- Working collaboratively with the director
- Working collaboratively with staff and fostering a team-based work environment
- Providing effective communication with staff and ability to resolve any conflicts
- Providing effective communication with parents/guardians about their child
- Usage of center app for communicating with families
- Establishing positive and effective family relations
- Supervising staff and children when Director is not present
- Taking the initiative to assist with tasks
- Eager to do things independently
Requirements:
- 1 year of childcare and administrative assistant experience required
- Ability to assist director in managing staff when director is present
- Ability to manage staff when director is not present
- Ability to work on a team
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships with children, families and staff
- Show empathy and compassion for young children
- Dependable, reliable, adaptable and enjoys working together toward a common goal
- Ability to calmly address stressful situations professionally while multi-tasking to ensure smooth school operations
- Must be able to properly lift children if needed
- Meet annual professional development requirements, per state regulations
- Personable and energetic individual
- Must meet state criteria for child care employment
