Job Description For
Lifeguard
JOB TITLE: LIFEGUARD
QUALIFICATIONS: You must be at least 16 years old. American Red Cross Life Guard Training certificate preferred. American Red Cross Standard First Aid, American Red Cross Adult CPR certificate and Water Safety Instructor certificate is preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as a lifeguard is preferred.
PRIMARY DUTIES: Observe and enforce all rules and regulations. Prevent injury and minimize or eliminate hazardous situations.
Respond quickly to all emergency situations.
Administer emergency first aid to victims of an injury.
Have positive public relations with patrons, public and staff.
Help teach swim lessons.
SECONDARY DUTIES: Educate the facility users and inform them of the purpose of and need for rules.
Carry out all additional duties as assigned by supervisory staff members.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Pool Manager, Assistant Pool Manager, Head Lifeguard, and Director of Parks and Recreation.

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary
Pay: $9.00 - $11.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Lifeguard: 1 year (Preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
- Lifeguard Training (Preferred)
