Drafter

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Jr. Draftsman to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in production and manufacturing process development, and the design and drafting process, utilizing CAD tools to create detailed shop drawings and technical drawings. The incumbent Draftsman will become an essential team player on our team and this position requires a strong understanding of design principles, real world construction experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with managers as well as the ability to think outside the box to bring concepts to life.

Responsibilities

• Creating accurate CAD drawings from hand sketches, verbal instructions, and site visits
• Develop detailed drawings and 3D models using CAD software.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards in all drafts produced.
• Review and modify existing designs based on feedback from stakeholders.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including specifications and reports.
• Inspect units as necessary to gather information for design improvements or modifications.
• Ability to manage multiple jobs at various stages in the process.
• Thinking creatively and critically to support the team in the design process, to create sketches anddrawings that actually work.
• Creating and continually updating project drawings lists and creating, editing, and updating standarddetails for use in projects.

Qualifications

• A two-year degree in Computer Aided Drafting.
• Minimum 1-year experience in a CAD Operator role.
• Proven experience as a draftsman or similar role, with a portfolio showcasing your work.
• Outstanding fluency and skill within the AutoCAD system.
• Strong understanding of design principles and building systems.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills; listening, comprehension, and feedback. Ability to effectively conveytechnical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.Must have an interest in project management.
