The Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station provides residential and commercial recycling, solid waste disposal, and hazardous waste management service to the Tri-Cities community. Our facility is open to all members of the public as a one-stop location to recycle unwanted items, disposal services for non-recyclable waste, and for the safe management of common household hazardous waste.
The Fremont Recycling and Transfer Station is owned and operated by BLT Enterprises. As developer, owner, and operator of Material Recovery Facilities and Transfer Stations throughout California, BLT's team has processed and/or recycled more than 11,000 tons of waste per day in Los Angeles, Burbank, Fremont, Oxnard, and Sacramento.

ABOUT THE JOB
This position is primarily responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the facility, including common areas, restrooms, and the public unloading area. The role also involves assisting with housekeeping duties around transfer pits, ensuring all areas remain organized, safe, and free of debris. Attention to detail and the ability to work independently are key in upholding cleanliness standards throughout the facility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform general facility housekeeping, including debris collection using a riding sweeper or hand tools.
- Sort and separate materials from recyclable waste as needed.
- Serve as a backup for spotter or raker positions when required.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness in the interior areas of facility buildings.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- No specific diploma or GED required. Must be able to read and understand facility safety signs and warnings.
- Follows established methods and instructions; occasional variations are handled using the same process or referred to by others. Works under close supervision with minimal variety in tasks.
- Assigned specific tasks with clear instructions and limited freedom of action. Deviations from instructions require authorization. Decisions impact only on the employee’s own work.
- Must be able to stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, or crouch regularly. Frequently lift or move 10-25 pounds, with occasional lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be provided for individuals with disabilities.

- Pass a drug screening.

SAFETY
While performing job duties, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and household and commercial waste. The noise level in the work environment is typically loud.
This position requires company-provided safety equipment, and any additional personal protective equipment deemed necessary by the company to ensure a safe work environment. This may include a hard hat, eye protection, hearing protection, uniform, safety vest, and safety boots. You must wear any other PPE provided by the company.
