BRIEF DESCRIPTION :

The Business Development Manager - Commercial Insurance is pivotal in driving new business opportunities by fostering relationships with commercial insurance adjusters, consultants, and brokers. This role encompasses both inside and outside sales initiatives, including networking, lead generation, social media engagement, and active participation in trade associations.

Salary Range : $85,000 - $110,000

Commission OTE Range : $50,000 - $160,000

  • Engage in business development activities
  • Conduct face-to-face meetings
  • Generate significant leads
  • Maintain a diverse mix of business relationships

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Business Development

  • Allocate 75% of time to regional efforts and 25% to broader initiatives.
  • Identify, nurture, and develop relationships to enhance referral opportunities.
  • Present and sell BluSky’s services to prospective clients.
  • Manage a designated list of insurance adjusters, consultants, and brokers through Salesforce.
  • Engage with targeted associations by maintaining memberships.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals.
  • Meet sales activity KPIs through engagement with clients and prospects.
  • Document all business development activities in Salesforce daily.
  • Achieve yearly individual sales goals.
  • Marketing

  • Collaborate with leadership to strategize involvement in associations and manage related budgets.
  • Represent BluSky at tradeshows, golf tournaments, and promotional events.
  • Organize and participate in networking events, including after-hours activities.
  • General Responsibilities

  • Maintain proficiency in BluSky's services and relevant terminology.
  • Adhere to company employment standards and Best Practices.
  • Deliver the highest level of customer service.
  • Contribute positively to BluSky’s culture and community.
  • Perform additional duties or projects as assigned.
  • SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY :

    This role has no direct reports.

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS :

  • 3 years of experience in commercial insurance or brokerage preferred.
  • Willingness to attend networking functions 2-4 evenings per week.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience managing sales data within a CRM system.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • A dynamic, driven, and team-oriented attitude is essential!
  • EDUCATION :

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • TRAVEL :

  • Approximately 50% travel, including some overnight travel for training or meetings.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL JOB DEMANDS :

    Employees may encounter varying noise levels and must regularly lift between 25-50 pounds. They are frequently required to stand, walk, use their hands and fingers to handle materials, and communicate effectively.

    COMPENSATION :
