Blue is seeking an Audit and Assurance Quality Control (AAQC) team member to join our firm. As an AAQC team member, you will work with our Quality Control (QC) team to add leverage to our existing QC functions. This is a high-profile position working closely with the firm’s leaders and key assurance staff members to provide important technical and quality guidance. Position Details:
- Assistance with Engagement Quality Review (EQR) process including performing EQR’s throughout the year.
- Consult with staff & leaders on technical matters as needed.
- Participate in the firm’s internal inspection process. This includes regularly conducting engagement reviews, gathering information to support identified inspection issues, and communicating inspection findings to firm personnel in meetings and comment forms.
- Monitor and evaluate new standards as issued and coordinate monthly updates for both internal and external utilization.
- Assist in developing thought leadership and guidance for the firm (newsletters, best practices, tools etc.)
- Participate in various audit and assurance task groups responsible for evaluating the consistency of approach and procedures among various industries and functional areas within the firm.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting with over 4 years’ experience in auditing within a public accounting firm.
- Current CPA Certification.
- Strong knowledge of generally accepted auditing standards (GAAS) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). Experience in Governmental Audit Standards (GAS) is a plus.
- Must be comfortable working independently on projects as well as collaborating in a team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Technically savvy with experience in MS Office and working within a paperless accounting environment.
- Ability to travel to our offices, up to 5% of time, mostly day trips; minimal overnight travel.
- Physical demands include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds, sit for long periods of time and the use of a desktop computer.
