Sanitation Technician

WHO'S IN THE KITCHENWe’re looking for a Sanitation Technician in our Fulfillment Center to maintain building and equipment in a proper sanitation condition, under the direction of the Sanitation Manager, Supervisor or Lead/Specialist. This position will be located in our Richmond facility.WHAT'S ON THE MENUResponsible for cleaning building and equipment following a Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS)Understand and use a variety of Sanitation Chemicals to effectively complete assigned tasksPerform Chemical concentration and verify resultsKnow and take steps to correct sanitizer’s concentrating above Food Contact concentrationsRecognize soil types and use proper chemicals for removalProperly use all sanitation equipment safelyRecognize and differentiate PH levels for adjusting and neutralizing solutionsFood Safety Responsibilities:Must protect product from contaminations while completing assigned tasksEnsure cleaning is done correctlyInspect equipment before and after cleaning for any possible contaminationReport any acts or conditions that may place our product at riskSafety Responsibilities:Responsible for learning safety rulesResponsible for following safety rulesFollow LOTO Procedures when necessaryNECESSARY INGREDIENTS You'll need to read and understand English to ensure your safety and the safety of those working around you. Bilingual applicants are encouraged to apply.1 - 3 years experience in a food manufacturing environment preferredHigh School EducationSome college work in Chemistry or Work SafetyMechanical aptitude with the capability to learn and follow instructions for disassembly and re-assemble of food processing equipment.Ability to demonstrate excellent safety work habits at all timesExperience in OSHA programsAbility to complete and obtain various safety certifications within the first yearExperience with PIT Equipment and the ability to complete and obtain various certifications within the first 6 monthsExperience with Sanitation Chemicals as well as the ability to complete and obtain various sanitation certificates within the first yearClear and concise communicator, verbal and writtenAbility to work calmly and effectively under pressureAbility to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environmentMust be able to work as a member of a teamExperience in a food-manufacturing environment preferredSatisfactory drug and background screening following condition offerOvertime, weekend and holiday work, as requiredRequirements: Must be able to bend and lift up to 49 pounds repetitively with or without reasonable accommodationMust be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods of time with or without reasonable accommodationExposure to temperatures that range from freezing to sub-freezing (coolers, freezers, etc.) with or without reasonable accommodation Must be able to push, pull, squat, bend, and reach about and below shoulders; repetitive use of hands with or without reasonable accommodation
