What Will your Day Look Like as a Behavior Technician (BT)?
Teach individuals with autism to talk, play, make friends, and function independently, while helping reduce challenging behaviors and improve overall functioning
Work one on one with kiddos (or small group), in-home, in daycare / school or in an EI Center
Collect data and write session notes to demonstrate each client’s progress toward his / her / their goals
Work collaboratively with your BCBA supervisor
What Will you Do as a Behavior Technician (BT)?
Provide intensive one-on-one therapy (or small group setting) to children with ASD
Follow and implement care plan goals designed by BCBAs including reinforcement procedures, teaching procedures, behavior reduction procedures, discrete trial teaching, etc.
Establishes & maintains therapeutic relationship
Accurately collect, record data based on client behavior; complete session notes
Provide basic care to the clients (e.g., toileting, eating)
Comply with all BACB and company policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines
Requirements for Behavior Technician (BT) :
Must be at least 18 years of age
High School diploma or equivalent
Previous experience working with children; ASD experience strongly preferred
Reliability- ability to work a consistent schedule throughout the week
Must have reliable transportation
To complete the physical demands of the job (frequent sitting and standing, sitting on and getting up from the floor, kneeling, bending, and running with children) you must be able to : Stand and move for at least 75% of the day; lift, push, pull up to 40 pounds

- Hourly rate depends on RBT certification, experience in the ABA field as BT / RBT, education, training, current BCBA student, etc. BCBA student hourly rate is $27.00
