Essential Job Functions / Job Duties & Responsibilities :
The Authorization Coordinator position ensures the timely, thorough, and accurate coordination of client Third Party Payer verifications and authorizations so that appropriate services can commence and continue with our clients
- Ensure timelines of reports and authorizations
- Submit complete authorization request for single case agreements (SCA) including in-network exceptions
- Engage clinician when requried by insurance provider and third-party billing compnay
- Perform accurate data entry in EMR and other software
- Ensure that clinical team is aware of upcoming authorization deadliens to drive creation and submission of progress report for re-auhtorization in a timely manner
- Submit all documents required for credentialing of staff and updating of CAQH numbers
- Work with insurance carriers to become an in network provider
- Work with provider on obtaining provider certification, license and paperwork to process credentialing
- Work with the biller to ensure that all authorizations are properly set up in their system
- Assist other staff wtih issues converting sessions in EMR
- Assist with the development of policies, procedures, workflows, and step action guides for authorization and billing as well as hand-in / hand-offs with other departments
- Develop and maintain authorization request templates to streamline authorization request process and decrease turnaround time
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience using an electronic medical system
- Detail oriented, strong organizational, time management, analytical, problem solving, and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask and track multiple items at the same time
- Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including phone and email
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Sheets and Google Docs, with strong computer skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing circumstances while maintaining a positive attitude
