Door/Host Description:
Door/host responsibilities include welcoming guests, providing accurate wait times, managing waiting guests, seating guests, and assisting with takeout orders. A successful door/host will play a fundamental role in achieving customer satisfaction by greeting customers when entering or leaving our establishment, answering phones, taking to call-ahead orders, and accurately handling money and making change as needed. Our door/hosts work under immediate supervision of the manager on duty.
Door/Host Greeter Skills:
Contributes to a friendly, welcoming restaurant environment.
Possesses strong interpersonal skills and telephone etiquette.
Accurately and efficiently handles cash and makes change.
Performs a variety of tasks including greeting and seating customers, coordinating with staff about available seating, and expediting to go orders as needed.
Responds to guest comments and criticisms in a positive and constructive manner and works continuously to improve customer satisfaction.
Maintains a calm demeanor during periods of high-volume and sets a positive example for staff.
Understands team dynamics and facilitates teamwork amongst the staff.
Skilled in solving over-the-counter inquiries and problems.
Well organized and detail oriented.
Able to interact professionally with individuals at all levels, both internally and externally.
Monitors compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
Fills in, if available, for absent employees when coverage is not found.
Door/Host Requirements:
High-school diploma or equivalent
Host experience preferred
Ability to work flexible hours that include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays
Likely 5-day workweek — 30-40 hours per week
Computer competency skills
Food Handler Certification preferred
Reliable transportation
Must be able to stand, walk, bend and stretch for duration of shift
Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull approximately 50 lbs
