Position Purpose: The Sr. Technical Product Manager is responsible for the full lifecycle of BCT satellite components—from concept through qualification, production, and end-of-life—while championing customer needs, optimizing ROI, and fostering cross-functional collaboration. This role ensures that technical solutions meet cost, schedule and performance requirements, cultivates continuous improvement, and maintains the highest standards of quality to drive business growth and customer satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the full lifecycle of satellite subsystems and components from concept through qualification, production, and obsolescence while ensuring alignment with company goals
- Act as the Voice of the Customer for technical performance by collaborating with customer-facing teams, incorporating feedback into product roadmaps, and facilitating technical exchanges.
- Provide technical leadership across multiple product lines, including engineering proposal activities, system requirements, and verification techniques.
- Develop and manage product and system designs, including interface specifications, risk management, and trade studies for cost and technical efficiency.
- Support continuous improvement projects that enhance performance, reduce costs or lead-times, and increase customer satisfaction.
- Lead customer meetings and collaborate across internal and external domains to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned.
- Develop and execute test methods, verification plans, ground test equipment, and modeling changes to support new and modified designs.
- Provide mentoring, technical review, and guidance to junior engineers to promote learning and professional development.
- Assist with program management, ensuring effective communication at all levels to drive business and engineering success.
- Ensure all business activities adhere to ethical standards, legal regulations, and company policies while fostering a culture of accountability.
- May include personnel management responsibilities.
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications/Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, Robotics, Systems or other related engineering discipline. A Master’s degree counts as 2 years of experience.
· At least 10 years of relevant post-grad experience working with software-driven hardware products.
· Preferred 3 or more years product development or team leadership experience.
· Preferred direct experience with at least one of the satellite subsystems below:
o Guidance Navigation and Control (Reaction Wheels, Star Trackers, Torque Rods, etc.)
o Communications (Antennas, Radios, Data Recorders, Encryptors, etc.)
o Power (Solar Arrays, SADAs, Batteries, etc.)
o Mechanisms (Gimbals, Release Devices, Hinges, Payloads, etc.)
· Strong understanding of product lifecycle from concept to end-of-life, including technology readiness levels (TRL) and system design balancing performance, cost, power, and emerging technologies.
· Proven ability to work across Business Development, Engineering, and Operations organizations, driving collaboration across diverse teams.
· Strong skills in defining projects, writing concise and testable product requirements, developing procurement documents, and estimating staffing needs.
· Expertise in developing configurable products, growing new business opportunities, and executing demanding flight programs.
· Ability to thrive in ambiguous situations, make sound risk-based decisions, and methodically balance diverse requirements in dynamic environments.
· Demonstrated ability to perform trade studies, parametric analyses, and evaluate emerging technologies while managing competing requirements.
· Eager to test, demonstrate, and apply new technologies in real-world applications, with a “figure it out and get it done” mentality.
· Strong skills with at least one common programming language such as MATLAB or Python.
· Desired experience using JIRA or another project planning tool.
· Strong verbal and written communication.
· Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education
Working Conditions:
This job operates in a professional office environment, but in a manufacturing company. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets and fax machines. BCT anticipates the application window closing approximately 40 days from the date the notice was posted.
